Pearl beads can be real or fake; however, many people can’t tell the difference. Pearls are relatively easy to duplicate and so many people opt to purchase artificial pieces when making jewelry, simply to save on the associated cost. Pearls are created through a natural process occurring in the mouth of a clam, making them somewhat of a precious stone.

Pearl beads that are strung together on a necklace are very elegant in appearance. While other stones and beads may be pretty, pearls posses an element of elegance that cannot be rivaled. They add class, as well as, an element of softness to any outfit and thus are much desired.

Artificial pearl beads can be purchased online, and the same is true for real pearls. When purchasing pearls, there are a few ways to test how genuine it is. For example, take two pearls and rub them together, if there is a rough or gritty texture, chance are they are real. People also like to simply examine them visually; if they possess an unnatural perfection, chances are they are fake.
