Lampwork Beads

Lampwork beads are a creation that dates back for centuries. These types of beads are made by using a glass torch to heat glass, and then spinning it around a bead release. Colors are then added to make them more colorful, at this point they can be added to the kiln to set the color and harden.

Lampwork beads need to go through an annealing process. This is a period of time that takes place in the kiln allowing it to cool very slowly making it very strong, as well as, durable. After this process they are then taken and they are their holes are cleaned to ensure that the beads are durable.

Lampwork beads are a one of a kind creation. No two beads are alike, and this is the allure for many people. By using this medium, it allows a piece to be custom and very unique fitting to different person’s individuality.
